AWS VIRTUAL AUCTION FAQ

How much does it cost to register as a bidder?

The fee to register as an online bidder is $25. VIP packages are available, and include an appetizer / snack tray with choice of beverage.  You have the choice of picking up your food / beverage choice at the school (VIP), or have it delivered locally to your home (VIP Premier).

Does everyone in my household need to register as a bidder?

You only need one bidding registration for your household to be able to participate in the auction. The same online bidding registration link can be used on multiple devices at the same time.

How does online bidding work?

Bidding for all items (basket raffle, silent and live) will take place through the Greater Giving online bidding platform.  You will receive a welcome text / email that will give you access to the bidding site so you can preview items prior to each section opening for bidding.  Visit the 'How Online Bidding Works' tab for more information.

Can I buy raffle tickets without registering as an online bidder?

Unfortunately, raffle tickets can only be purchased if you are a registered bidder.  The good news is that a $25 bidder ticket will allow anyone in your household the access to buy raffle tickets and bid on silent and live auction items!

What is the difference between the basket raffle, silent auction and live auction?

Basket raffle items are items or baskets in which you purchase a single chance to win for $1.  You can purchase as many chances as you would like for each of the baskets.  A winning ticket is chosen at random on Sunday May 16th.

Silent auction items are higher value items or baskets in which $$$ bids are placed and the highest bidder wins the item (like eBay).

Live auction items are high value items (many artistic items are priceless pieces made by AWS students!).  The live auction will take place Saturday May 15th from 7-8pm. Bidding will close on all live auction items at the conclusion of this segment. The highest bidder will win the live auction item.

What goes on in the virtual live auction event?

During the virtual live auction event on Saturday, May 15 from 7-8pm, individual live auction items will be highlighted and discussed in more detail.  All live auction items will close May 15 at approximately 8pm, so as long as you have your phone or computer, you can place your bids without needing to watch.

What if I’m not available on Saturday evening for the virtual live auction?

Bidding on live items will open Friday evening, and you can enter a maximum bid on any item(s) you’re interested in.  The online bidding software will automatically place bids up to the amount of your maximum bid.  You will receive notifications through email and/or text if you are outbid, and can always increase the amount of your bid, even if you’re not watching the virtual live event.  All live auction items will close Saturday, May 15 at approximately 8pm, so as long as you have your phone or computer, you can place your bids without needing to watch.
